Paterson Pickle Company was born in the basement of Samuel “Shimmy” Nadel’s home in Passaic, NJ in 1950. Delivering his prized pickles during the summertime from his pick-up truck, Shimmy would sell his pickles at the Bungalow Colonies in the Catskill Mountains and various farmers markets under the company name Shimmy’s Pickles.

Influenced by his father’s passion for pickles, his son Howard Nadel opened Paterson Pickle Company in 1988. Under Howard’s leadership, Paterson Pickle Company became a leading supplier of fresh pickled products and produce to various supermarkets and restaurants in the tri-state area.

Today, still family owned and operated, the third generation of Nadel’s, Eric and Marc have expanded Paterson Pickle Company’s products and distribution serving thousands of distributers, restaurant chains, and supermarkets, across the Eastern United States.

Our state-of-the-art facility is completely automated guaranteeing that our pickles and produce are moved quickly and gently to keep pace with today’s ever changing market demands. In addition, our facility is SQF and HAACP certified as well as Kosher Certified under the supervision of the Orthodox Union.

Paterson Pickle Company offers a wide range of fresh produce and packed pickles in 4-and 5-gallon buckets that include our delicious half sour pickle and our popular full sour storage pickle.
